Mike Barr, a Kyoto resident, traveled to the Tohoku region with Rob on the first IDRO Japan relief trip. Mike said,

“It was important to both Rob and myself that we were not "disaster tourists" but were actually there doing something, anything, that we could to be useful while remaining as unobtrusive as possible.   My sincere hope from this point onward is that people like ourselves who love this country and care about its residents can effectively promote reconstruction.”
